When Fall Is In The Air

For tender expressions of love - or even longing or lust - roses will help you say a thousand meaningful new things. When the tomb of the boy-king Tutankhamen was discovered in the I 920s, one of the most poignant findings was a little bunch of withered roses, placed in the innermost sarcophagus by his young widow thousands of years before. What is most remarkable is that, while Egyptologists can only speculate about many aspects of that ancient burial, the symbolism of the roses is still completely fresh and potent.
