NEW YORK ( TheStreet ) -- General Motors( GM ) shares cruised comfortably higher in their return to the New York Stock Exchange Thursday, trading up $2.35 to $35.35, or just over 7% higher than their initial public offering price of $33. GM was delisted by the NYSE a year and a half ago after filing for bankruptcy protection. It retained its well-known ticker symbol of GM.
