R Patz Popped Pills Before First Meeting Twilight Producers

Let's hope this was an isolated incident…
During a recent interview, Robert Pattinson opened up about his first time meeting with the Twilight producers…and we are not impressed with what he had to say!
According to R-Patz, he was so nervous about meeting the Twi-producers, that he popped half a Xanax to calm himself, AND THEN popped [...]

A very, merry Christmas indeed - and it's not even Thanksgiving!

According to the numbers, it looks very possible that Justin Bieber's first Christmas album, Under The Mistletoe, will don its gay apparel on the No. 1 slot on the Billboard 200 chart. Industry sources are projecting the disc will debut with 200,000 to 220,000 copies sold in it's first week.

That's nothing to scoff at for an XMas album! The power of The Biebs lives on!!!

Good for him! Despite what other people might say, Justin has been a very good boy this year and deserves the accolade!

SAG Awards This Sunday: MTV News Has Got You Covered

Things are getting crazy in Movie Land. We'd barely caught our breath after the Golden Globe Awards when he had to jet off to Park City for the Sundance Film Festival. Now we're back, adjusting to the time difference, and making preparations for the Screen Actors Guild Awards on Sunday night. Don't cry for us [...]

In his breakout 2004 documentary "Super Size Me", filmmaker Morgan Spurlock attempted to show the world just how bad McDonald's is for you (particularly if you eat it all day, every day.) Now, Spurlock is going after all the big guns in his latest, "The Greatest Movie Ever Sold," an expose on the world of marketing, advertising and product placement.

Not so surprisingly, Spurlock couldn't get corporate sponsorship from many of the companies featured in the film (including his old friends at McDonald's.) Still, the ever-undeterred Spurlock sat down with MTV News at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival to talk about what it was like getting turned down by some big corporations and, despite all that, how he still managed to make a "docbuster."

Hilariously sporting an entirely corporate-sponsored jacket (Hyatt, JetBlue, and Pennsylvania's "greatest convenience store you'll ever stop in," Sheetz — which is providing collector cups for the movie's impending release — were game with Spurlock's vision), the director explained to MTV News that the three biggest sponsors of the project benefited from a commercial spot inserted within the movie itself. "It's the first time ever there's a film that has commercial breaks inside of it that, literally, are [woven] seamlessly into the movie."

But it seems one of the sponsors, POM Wonderful (which also appears on Spurlock's jacket) couldn't get on board with one of his ideas for their ad: to boast the fact that their product helps erectile dysfunction.

"We were pitching them commercials, one of which was talking about the fact that [POM] is 40% as effective as Viagra. So, in the film I'm talking about this stuff and I say that it will improve your erections. Then the camera pulls out a little more and there I am standing next to a giant erection and a POM bottle as I drink it," he says, adding, "They didn't like that idea."

Nevertheless, Spurlock and his crew still made the ad, about which he joked, "Luckily, I drank plenty of POM for that shoot"). He even toyed with the idea of putting it at the end of the movie, but ultimately had reservations about allowing that to be the last image he left in the mind of Sundance audiences. Yet when the initial pitch got a rousing reaction from the crowd at Saturday's screening, he thought, "Maybe we should have put that at the end of the movie!'"

If POM was a little hesitant, it was nothing compared to the responses he got from fast-food chains he tried to have in the "docbuster" (that's a documentary/blockbuster), including his old Big Mac-laden stomping grounds. "We tried," Spurlock said. "I called McDonald's, I called Burger King...not Subway, not even In-N-Out...White Castle...would be on board. But, no. Nobody wanted to play with us."

In fact, it wasn't just a simple "no" that Spurlock received from McDonald's; it was no response whatsoever. "They just didn't call back," he reveals. "The blow off was no returned phone call, ever."

Still, that wasn't even the harshest rejection Spurlock got while seeking sponsors. "The most memorable blow off, which is in the film, was Guess jeans. We were trying to find a clothing sponsor and [a Guess rep] said, 'No, no, no, no, we will never, ever put you on a billboard," he says with a laugh, "You know, it's like she was very clear that you are so not Guess jeans material."

Will you check out Morgan Spurlock's latest, "The Greatest Movie Ever Sold" when it hits theaters?

Oscar Reaction Wrap Up: The Good, The Dull And The OMG Totally Over It!

Christoper Nolan got snubbed! Andrew Garfield got screwed! And "Hereafter" got a Visual Effects nod but "Tron: Legacy didn't, because, geez...really, Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, really?!
Yes, yesterday's Oscar nomination roll-out brought a fair amount of anger-inducing surprises. But it also delivered — predictably, soothingly — what we can always expect: a slew [...]

One doesn't typically equate fan boys and horror buffs with the Sundance crowd (heck, they've got Comic Con, after all). But when Rutger Hauer is in town, it's a different story.

The 67-year-old Dutch actor, perhaps best known for his roles in films like "Blade Runner" and the original version of "The Hitcher," came to Park City, Utah to screen his latest venture, an over-the-top gore fest called "Hobo With a Shotgun," much to the delight of movie fans with particularly off-kilter taste.

Hauer sat down with MTV News to discuss all the slaughter in the flick about a town gone very awry. "This is not that serious," Hauer said of the film's grindhouse-style violence. While he acknowledges the film's violence walks "a fine line," he argues that in the shock-value horror genre, "The buttons have already been pushed."

"It's a different story," he says of the film, adding, "It's not about limbs flying and how creatively you try and kill somebody."

In true camp-movie fashion, "Hobo" was screened at midnight last week to a raucous crowd that ate up every kill and cheesy line of dialogue. Even Hauer, who plays the film's vigilante — and the armed homeless dude of the title — couldn't help but get caught up in the madness of the event. He was having a blast, and was spotted filming the pre-screening hubbub with his own camera.

After the premiere, the star took questions from the audience, and as Hauer revealed to MTV, one theatergoer had a particularly stand-out query. "One kid asked me, 'I've always wanted to kill somebody, is a shotgun the right way to do it'?", to which Hauer initially responded, "Huh?!"

Then, in the true splatter-flick spirit, Hauer suggested, "Scissor hands. Why do it so quickly? Do it slowly, you know?"

Coach and Ozzy Join Survivor Season 24 Premier

Survivor: South Pacific premiered last night on CBS, launching Season 24 of the best Reality TV game show. Returning were two veteran players, Oscar ′Ozzy′ Lusth and Ben ′Coach′ Wade. Both are on their third try to win the game of Survivor. Jeff Probst introduced them to the two tribes of new players, each with eight members. They began with a Heroes-Only Challenge, where Ozzy and Coach battled for extra food and flint to help make a fire. Ozzy won for his tribe, Savaii, which had given him a warm welcome. But the Coach got a cool reception from his tribe, Upolu. Coach Ben Wade, pictured above, and Ozzy Lusth return as veterans to season 24 of Survivor: South Pacific. Image Credit: Wenn.com Once the Savaii tribe reached their camp site, they get acquainted. Ozzy immediately takes a liking to Semhar, an exotic beauty who is a street poet. He suggests that they relax and go for a swim. The nerdy Harvard lawyer, John Cochran, is embarrassed to strip and show off his pale body. Dawn, an English professor, is concerned about this care-free approach. She wants a shelter built and now! Over at Upolu Tribe. Coach tries to rally [...]

Saving a Favorite Guitar Pick

If you have limited funds after guitar buying, but would like to own an amp, start out with what's known as a practice amp - one that has a decent feature set (tone controls, reverb, and two or more volume controls so that you can sculpt your distorted sound) and that delivers a good sound but at low volumes (6 to 12 watts is typical on practice amps). This type of starter amp accustoms you to hearing the electric guitar as it's designed to be heard - through a guitar amp.

Guitar Buying Getting Started With A Practice Amp

Not sure just what all those terms mean in determining the quality of a guitar? Instead of just making sure that you have an instrument that plays in tune, frets easily, and doesn't collapse like a house of cards if you breathe on it, you also need to make informed decisions. Don't worry - that's not as grave as it sounds. The following guitar buying guide will clue you in.

Listening to Jazz

There are several approaches to playing jazz on guitar without a rhythm section. The guitar is of course capable of being used as a solo instrument, as shown by the classical repertoire as well as jazz artists such as Joe Pass and Tuck Andress. The technical problem to solve is to how to play chords, bass line, and melody with only ten fingers?

Creating Art Loving the Art You Do

Most artists, professional or not, will inform you of what an invaluable piece of equipment an easel is, specifically when it comes to painting or sketching. An easel is a simple design really. It is in its basic form simply a tool that is made to either show artwork or to support a canvas or sturdy sketchbook/hardboard during any art making process.

USA Womens Soccer Team Visits GMA

They gave American soccer fans a boost of pride by making it all the way to the World Cup Championship game, and the USA Women’s Soccer Team dropped by “Good Morning America” today (July 19).

Pitch pros like Hope Solo and Abby Wambach hammed it up for the cameras and signed autographs for fans as they arrived at the New York City studios for their media appearance.

And despite the loss to Japan, Ms. Solo is still keeping her head up and looking forward to the future of the team, noting that they’ve received great support from their fans.

"We're hoping it's not just bandwagon fans. We're hoping that we gain some longevity, and I think we did. I am not surprised by it because I know that we women can play, we can fight. There is such a strong mental spirit among the team, and it's a special team. I am not surprised that people are jumping on the bandwagon."

Abby concurred- "Coming home to this kind of reception is truly one of the best things that has ever happened."

New Couple Alert: Ryan Reynolds and Charlize Theron Dating?

There’s a new couple in Hollywood! What else is new, right? This time around, rumors are swirling that Ryan Reynolds and Charlize Theron are dating. Hmmm. I’m likin’ this pairing very much, how about you? A source told the mag that the two have been seeing each other ‘for months’ now, adding that ‘they’re exclusive, and it’s very hush-hush’. Hush-hush, indeed. If there is truth to the rumors, they have done a mighty fine job of evading the paps. According to a witness, Reynolds’ motorcycle allegedly could be seen at Theron’s home on the morning of June 5th, with Reynolds leaving at around 3:00 PM. Theron was seen making an exit a few minutes later. Hmmm. Now wait a minute…it sounds like this witness is stalkerish material. Heh heh. Both split from long term relationships last year – Reynolds and actress Scarlett Johansson announced that they were divorcing, and Theron and her long time boyfriend, Stuart Townsend, went their separate ways. Speaking of Johansson, she and Reynolds were seen breaking bread together Saturday at Little Dom’s restaurant in Los Angeles, according to PEOPLE. Could they possibly be getting back together? Reynolds made it known in a Details Magazine interview in [...]

The curious, disturbing marriage between 51-year-old Doug Hutchison and 16-year-old Courtney Strodden just got a lot a little creepier this morning, as the pair appeared on Good Morning America to discuss their four-month courtship via the internet, how the actor managed to avoid statutory rape charges, and why [...]

Filming Production On Season 2 Of Hawaii Five 0′ Is Underway

Filming production is in full swing on the Hawaiian set of Hawaii Five-0 which returns with its second season this Fall. So yesterday was our first (and only) full day here in Palm Springs, CA and while the temps were HOT as Hades, we managed to have a pretty fun time. Our friend Josh came out to Palm Springs for the weekend too so he hung out with us all day at the pool and all night at the club. The late night dancing options here in the desert are severly limited but we made the most of it. There was a lot of booze to keep the night well lubricated … ’twas fun, ’twas fun.

If you ever find yourself in Palm Springs and you’re lookin’ for a bitchin’ dance club, Toucan’s Tiki Lounge is NOT the place for you. But, because it’s like the only option, I guess you gotta make do. The DJ was pretty bad but he did, at least, play a few good songs. By the time the bachelorette party overtook the dancefloor (with huge inflatable penis in hand) it was time to bounce.

Late night desert turned into late night photobooth fun. We crashed out soon after and awoke today to, surprise, another scorching day! Because Carmageddon is ending early and the 405 highway is opening early back in LA, we’re leaving for home today. The weekend was fun but my guess is that Palm Springs is much more fun … in the Winter. I’m anxious to get back home … so, I’m out.

Doctor Who Season Finale Recap

We started off this season of Doctor Who with the good Doctor being killed at a picnic by somebody in an Apollo era spacesuit. We learned that his human companion, Amy Pond, was pregnant, and her baby, Melody, was kidnapped by a religious group called ′The Silence′ for the purpose of killing the Doctor. Then we found out that the mysterious River Song, who is traveling backwards through time, is in fact Melody Pond. So let us recap the season finale of Doctor Who and try to make sense out of all of this. The cast of Doctor Who could be as surprised and confused as the rest of us with the season finale. Image Credit: WENN.com. Much of the season has centered around two themes, confronting monsters that are just misunderstood and confronting monsters that are up to no good. The Doctor′s companions, Amy, her husband Rory, and River Song, saw the Doctor killed and have tried to shield and protect him. But during one episode, where they stopped a time traveling robot that was manned by miniaturized humans from killing Adolph Hitler before World War Two started, the Doctor has known that his death is imminent. Another major [...]

Everyone knows that soccer stud David Beckham is a world class athlete … but today we get to see cute photos of him in a different light … in the role of athletic supporter. I think it’s a pretty safe assumption that one of Becks‘s 4 children — Brooklyn Joseph, Romeo James, Cruz David and/or Harper Seven — will follow his footsteps into the world of professional sports … and it looks like it might be little Cruz to do so. Becks was on hand to support his youngest son at one of his soccer games this weekend. Click below to see photos of Becks happily sitting on the sidelines with the other dads as Cruz did his thing on the soccer field.

Love these photos. Even when Becks is doing nothing but laying around watching kids play soccer, he still looks fashionably dressed. Hair perfectly coiffed, pants perfectly rolled … I mean … hello, he looks perfect. Now, it remains to be seen if any of the Beckham children will actually grow up to carry on their father’s soccer legacy … but it would appear that little Cruz is well on his way to enjoying his own success … and he’s already got a #1 fan ;)

Beyoncé is readying the release of her latest music video for her new single Countdown but … she’s not quite ready to drop the vid just yet. Instead, she has released a cute 30-second clip of the video for us to snack on until the full version gets released. In the clip, Bey is rockin’ a super short hair-do … and she looks absolutely adorable. Check out 30 seconds of Countdown below.

I’m not a huge fan of the song but this video preview makes me want to see the full length clip. I am loving this 60′s mod look that Beyoncé is sportin’. This video looks fun, can’t wait to see the whole thing.
